Big Fishies
Tonight i saw Tim Buton's movie Big Fish and found the movie to possess potent metaphors for my life. i nearly wept out loud at the end as the son releases his father into eternity and he accepts his father, with all his faults and keeps his memory alive. My life is filled with a weave-like pattern of stories and to be honest my past and its members are as mysterious as the ones in the movie. If my fantasies and reality where to mix they would become Burton's movie and he's done this to me in a nightmare before Christmas (which remains my favorite movie os all time)-i have been him for Halloween since the movie came out. sometimes i wish life would follow Hollywood rules and really create closure to past crimes and resolve in a misty wooden swamp.
working on a new piece about the letter a for an art contest and a tribute to my main man, William H. Morris. it's tiny 16"x20" and should take no time at all...right. so much pattern work that i hope i don't make people blind. 3 patterns, an African grey parrot, an African pigmy hawk and Apollo butterflies. we'll see.
